We’re over a month into lockdown and time is flying! At least, it is when you’re busy with all the fantastic online activities from our favourite businesses in the City. Take a look at our recommended list of what to do this week.
If you’re missing browsing through the traders at Old Spitalfields Market, you’d better make your way over to the virtual market – plenty of the regulars have moved online and the Spitalfields website is keeping them in one place for you. Whether it’s edgy print t-shirts, those perfect-gift candles or – well – a bow tie for your pup, you can shop to your heart’s content here.
Dragon Cafe in the City, the monthly meet-up designed to engage Cityworkers in creative activities with wellbeing in mind, is back online on Wednesday this week. Get involved in collage-making, yoga for mental health, or learn the tricks of an excellent chess game, all in one place throughout the day. Click here to learn more and access other on-demand resources.
Solo film-watching on your sofa is not quite the same as the buzz of a shared experience at the cinema. Good news, then, for film-lovers – Everyman are organising mass-film-watching as part of their Saturday night House Parties, and encouraging charity donations in lieu of cinema tickets. There are even exclusive director Q&As and intros on their IG live, so get the popcorn in and keep an eye on Everyman’s social media to see what they’re recommending to rent or stream this Saturday.
If you’re lucky enough to get your hands on some flour, there’s no better time to try pasta-making. On Instagram Emilia’s Crafted Pasta are spreading their wisdom and sharing advice on best pasta-making practice at home, as well as delicious recipes for what to accompany it with. Click here to view their Instagram and have a browse.
