Whether you’re looking to spoil yourself with a ‘staycation’ or need to crash somewhere after a never-ending day at work, the City of London is full of magical places for you to get that comfortable and well-deserved night’s sleep. South Place Hotel – Describing itself as a place where “the sophisticated city meets the hip east-end”, South Place Hotel is where you go to nap in style. Having been awarded the highest rating for disabled access as well as welcoming pets with open arms, they take pride in catering for all needs and that hospitality is palpable as soon as you enter the modern, purpose-built building.

The hotel’s impressive urban contemporary design was meant to be merely a ‘restaurant with rooms’, but with no less than 80 retro-themed bedrooms now being attached to it that title no longer quite suffices. We love this place especially for its unique vibe where both chilling and partying is highly encouraged. And on top of that, judging from their many positive reviews, the staff and service are impeccable.

South Place Hotel is located on 3 South Place, right in between Liverpool St station and Moorgate. Double rooms go from £200 per night.

The Ned Hotel London

The Ned – Yup, we love the Ned – and we’re not shy about it. There just aren’t that many hotels where you have access to 9 restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, a hammam-including spa and, most importantly, bedrooms that make you never, ever want to leave. Taking up almost an entire block of the City of London, the Ned offers you not just a hotel, but a whole world to escape to.

The classical building was built between 1924 and 1939 and housed one of London’s largest banks up to 1992, after which the gigantic space was vacant for almost a decade. Thankfully, Soho House investors saved its potential and turned it into what must be one of the City’s most magical venues.

Find The Ned at 22 Poultry – perfect for when you’re looking for hotels near Bank. Double rooms can be booked from £190 a night.

Batty Langleys Hotel

Batty Langleys – History freaks unite, because this might well be the coolest hotel you’ve ever been to. Named after a 17th Century garden designer who created handbooks to help inexperienced clients plan their houses and gardens, this Georgian terrace-turned-into-hotel is full of fun historical references and surprises.

Each space has been designed with lots of attention to detail, making you feel like you’re stepping back in time as soon as you enter your typically Georgian room. Expect a 17th Century carved oak bed, heavy silk curtains and lots, lots of vintage accessories.

With double rooms available from £239, a bit of history does come with a price, but trust us, it’ll be a once in a lifetime experience. Batty Langleys is located just outside the City, at 12 Folgate Street.
