Never short of fun things to do or delectable cocktails to drink, Shoreditch has upped the ante on activity nights out. Forget the days of drinks over a game of Scrabble! We’ve scoured the area to bring you the top five spots where the cool kids hang, the atmosphere is electric and the drinks are tasty.

1.      BOUNCE

Nothing like a game of ping pong on a graffiti-covered table in a UV-lit basement to get the party going! With 17 tables, underground bar Bounce is the ultimate place to play and they’ve got a mouth-watering bar menu, too. If you’re feeling peckish, grab yourself some Italian / British fusion from the a la carte menu, which includes fourteen pizzas. Walk-ins are welcome but we’d recommend to book in advance, this place fills up fast. Open every day, see website for times.

241 Old Street, EC1V 9EY

2.      Junkyard Golf Club

In the spirit of sporty activity nights out, we urge you to give Junkyard Golf Club a go. There are three courses to choose from, each with nine holes. Be prepared for an explosion of creativity meets kooky with mind-blowing (and somewhat scary) décor, this is the perfect place to fill up your Instagram account. Street food from Bart’s Dog Kart and hipster drinks galore in four bars. Open every day of the week from noon to 11pm.

Dray Walk, 91 Brick Lane, E1 6QL

3.      Trapeze

Tired of doing the sun salutation to soothing sounds that put you to sleep? Kick-start your brain with Disco Yoga instead. After you’ve done the downward dog to the best of Diana Ross, reward yourself with a superfood mocktail or a funky cocktail. Every Tuesday in November from 7.30 – 8.30PM, tickets cost £15 and include one complimentary drink.

89 Great Eastern Street, EC2A 3HX

4.      The London Shuffle Club

We love a pop-up, especially when it comes with a game described as “a cross between ten-pin bowling and curling”. With a suitably-Shoreditch industrial design, eight shuffleboards, a 22ft shuffleboard table and two cornhole courts, there’s plenty to keep you busy. Add to that two bars, a pizza kitchen run by Platterform and a motorbike that serves prosecco and wham, you’re won over. Here until mid-January – hurry, hurry, hurry.

Old Truman Brewery, Elys Yard, E1 6QR

5.      Flight Club
The British pub tradition of playing darts has become popular once again and this time, it comes with a modern, technology twist. There’s a real time score board and animation to help you get 3 in a bed (that’s three darts on the same number, for those of you aren’t up to scratch on your dart terminology). Bring your mates, grab some pints and feast on mix ‘n’ share mini plates or a pizza paddle. There’s even a special brunch version! Pop in any day of the week.
